'Tis The Season

Our December starter sentence was provided by Jayne Ormerod.  Below you will see where it lead her. Merry Christmas to each and every one of you.

‘Tis the Season…

…of warm sugar cookies and jingle bells ringing;

of sleighs full of toys and carolers singing;

of Santas and Scrooges and tinsel and lights;

of long snowy walks with a loved one at night.

‘Tis the season of decking the halls with bright holly;

of cards sent from friends telling us to be jolly;

of silver and gold and eight tiny reindeer;

of cups of eggnog laced with holiday cheer.

‘Tis the season of watching It’s a Wonderful Life;

of celebrating the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ;

of wisemen and angels and wreaths and a star;

of a Noble fir tree tied on top of a car.

‘Tis the season, my friend, when joy fills our hearts;

though military missions may keep us apart.

So when stockings are hung by the chimney with care,

‘Tis the season of Christmas, “Peace on Earth” is my prayer.
